rs. Our refugee women were in the garden since the morning. They have a lot of joy to cultivate it and to see how their vegetables are growing that they can use in the kitchen. Unfortunately the catholic church, which is our neighbor, only thinks how they can hinder our activities. They went to the Governmental Offices in town to declare that our women ruin their property! By the way we are working on our property which is obvious according to the border lines on the map. So I will have to discuss the matter with the authorities as well as the church people. I always thought that the bible says, "love your next as yourself". But nothing is to feel from this love...

A vist to the refugee's garden
rs. The refugees are cultivating their own garden and are growing their own vegetables. Although the amount of rain is not big at the moment, the seedlings are growing well. The refugees were very proud when I visited their garden. In between the corn I found some beans and I told them that they are already ripe to pick. Besides the beans there are cabbages. The earth here is not easy to cultivate because when it is drained, it becomes heavy and cloggy. And when the earth becomes dry, it is solid like a stone. I explained how they can recycle kitchen garbage to nourish the earth. The Kenyans need some time to get convinced, but at the end we both can learn from each other!
